On Thursday, Yurview Louisiana will feature a potential high school football playoff matchup as Edna Karr will take on McDonogh 35. The Cougars, the defending 4A State Champions, are 4-1 on the 2017 season, while McDonogh is 5-1. The game can be seen on Yurview Louisiana for customers of Cox Communications on Thursday October 5th at 6:30pm CT, and will also be streamed live on Yurview.com.
2016 Playoff Rematch
These teams met last season in the playoffs, and the division rivals could very well meet again in this year’s tournament. The Roneagles will be looking for revenge, after they dropped a 26-14 game in the 2016 semifinals to the #2 seeded Cougars – a game in which McDonogh 35 led for most of the first three quarters. Karr would go on to their fifth state final in six seasons, completing an undefeated 14-win season and the 4A Championship. Karr has won nine straight meetings, but McDonogh is geared up for this one.

Last Line of Defense
Both teams have talented players in their defensive backfields – a critical component in a game when one busted play can flip the game in an instant. For McDonogh #35, Joe Foucha is an athletic senior safety who leads the young Roneagles defense. He’ll play for virtually any high-major school he wants…if he makes it out of SEC country and the likes of LSU and Auburn. He’s flanked by by junior strong safety Jaden Henderson and senior cornerback Glen Dwight-Brown, forming a very strong trio to defend against the pass.
Karr has Devin Bush, a Class of 2019 defensive back who is also wanted by most of the SEC and the hometown Tigers. He has two interceptions on the season, and is lightning when he gets the ball in his hands, as evidenced by his 67 yard punt return earlier this season.
