Friday’s Yurview Louisiana high school football matchup features a pair of New Orleans teams in Warren Easton and Landry Walker. Warren Easton (2-0) will take on the Chargin’ Bucs (0-2) at 6:30pm CT on September 15th at Behrman Stadium and the game will be broadcast live on YurView Louisiana for customers of Cox Communications. It will also stream live on YurView.com.
2 and 0 vs Deja Vu
While Warren Easton has taken it to opponents this season – outscoring opponents 69-14 so far – Landry Walker is still looking for their first win of 2017 after losing to John Curtis on Yurview in Week One and Edna Karr last week. Louisiana’s 2016 Mr. Football Keytaon Thompson is now in college, leaving the defending 5A champs to replace his ridiculous production. Still, they were 0-2 last season before they ran the table all the way through the Superdome, so the returning players know that a season can turn with that first victory.
A Legendre in the Making
Fighting Eagles QB Lance Legendre is making a name for himself early in his Junior season. He threw for three touchdowns last week; this after accounting for five vs Brother Martin last week. Yea, he’s got some talent.

The Desperation Factor
If Warren Easton can go on and make a deep playoff run, a Week 3 win over Landry Walker might just look like another game on the schedule. But this is a team with championship pedigree – playing for their season – against a team that has it’s sights set on bigger things. Although their offense is a work in progress, their defense has been fairly stingy, giving up one touchdown or less in all but one quarter this season.
Players to Watch
WR Devonta Jason – Landry Walker
You never know when this guy might go full Odell, as he did two weeks ago vs John Curtis. Jason is the type of athlete that you just can’t take your eyes off.
CB Chester Kimbrough – Warren Easton
On the other side of the line of scrimmage, Kimbrough might try to keep Jason in check. The DB has plenty of Power 5 suitors trying to pry him out of SEC country.
DL Jeffrey Holmes – Warren Easton
Tempted to list him as a tight end after he caught a two-point conversion last week, but the big defensive lineman can make plays up and down the line.
LB Tyren Fielder – Landry Walker
With 2 sacks, 9 tackles and a tipped pass forcing a turnover, Fielder is a defensive playmaker that Warren Easton needs to account for.
Watch Warren Easton vs Landry Walker on Friday, September 15th, at 6:30pm CT on YurView Louisiana and Yurview.com.
